Madrid-Parque del Retiro-Puerta de Alcalá

Madrid bien vale 4, 5, 6,… visitas.

Yesterday students had they guided tour in Madrid. It was their first contact with one of the biggest cities in Spain. They loved it so much that we had to go back today!

The Parque del Buen Retiro or Retiro was built in 1632. It belonged to the royal family until late 19th Century. Today we visited a couple of spots. We will have to go back to see more of it.

1. Probably one of my favourite stops in the entire park is the ROSALEDA. It is a park full of different types of roses.

2. Every year (end of May till Jun 15th) the Parque del Retiro hosts La Feria del Libro. We got some books and we even got to see multiple authors signing their work.

3. El palacio de cristal (Cristal palace) is another iconic stop on the park, together with the estanque. Students might be going back to get on a “barca”.

To finish our morning walk, we visited LA PUERTA DE ALCALA, just outside the west exit of El Retiro.
